Wilpena Pound Resort is just over 450km and 5 hours drive time away from Adelaide.
There are buses and some small plane flights to Port Augusta but from there a car will be needed.
Everyone will be required to purchase $10 Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park permits for each vehicle entering the park. More information here.

Accommodation close to the race route is best sourced from the 4 locations that are being used as Check Points. Get in early if you want anything more luxurious than camping.

Port Augusta is the closest town to the south (115km and 1.5 hours drive time from Wilpena Pound Resort) with the most non-camping options, but you might also find something at some of the beautiful smaller towns on the way, like Quorn and Hawker.
